Your setup, your way.

Included in your ticket is your own allocated space for you to use as your base of operations throughout the duration of King of The Hill. You can set up shelter, chairs, sleeping bags or a re-hydration station. But space is limited, so choose wisely.

And just a stone's throw from the city.

Just 90 minutes out of Melbourne, King of The Hill is located nearby the small town of Pyalong, and only 20 mins from the larger township of Kilmore. Enjoy the drive through the beautiful Central Victoria region, and rest easy knowing your car pass includes access to safe and secure on-site parking at the event.

So, you up for it?

Time to step up and show what you’re really made of. Registrations are open and limited to only 100 legends, so move quickly. The Hill awaits.

What else do I need to know?

How much elevation gain is there per 3.2km loop?

There is between 250-300 metres of elevation gain for each 3.2km loop.

What does an "ultra race" and "last one standing" mean?

An ‘ultra’ is considered to be anything above 42.2km’s (marathon). ‘Last one standing’ is referring to the race completion condition being when the final racer remains. Don’t overthink both of these terms, this is a race about giving your best. Focus on that.

Can I have a support crew?

Yeah - bring your mum, your mates or whoever else you’d like. Just keep in mind they will need to share your designated rest area.

Can I park at the race?

Absolutely, but there's a $20 parking fee per car. We recommend carpooling to save some dosh. Parking tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day.

What do I need to bring to the race?

Everything you need to survive for the duration of long you back yourself - water, meals, snacks, etc. After signing up you will be sent a mandatory gear list.

Will I be able to purchase food and supplies there?

Yes, we have food vans, a coffee cart, BBQs and a race stall on-site. However, we can't guarantee they'll be available on day 3... or day 4?

What’s the course like?

Nothing crazy, pretty easy to navigate, besides the big f*ck off hill of course…

If I withdraw or get eliminated can I stay and watch?

Absolutely - your rest spot is yours until the last Hardcore Harry remains. So bring a sleeping bag, chill out and enjoy the show.

What does my dosh get me?

Your race fee includes: race bib, stickers, GPS tracking, rest area access, trophy, personalised photos and of course - eternal glory.

If I win the $10,000, how will I get it?

You know those giant checks you see on TV? You’ll pose for a pic with one of those things.

Can you explain the rest area? Can we sleep there?

You’ll have a designated space to do what you please with. What we’d recommend is a sleeping bag, bivy bag, a sleeping mat, small table, water, food and a couple of chairs. This isn't full-on camping though, so no naked flames (or naked bodies).

How do I prepare for this?

Train hard - run, hike, walk, lift weights. There's no simple answer, as this race is about you against yourself. Give it your all in both training and on race day. If you need prep advice, we have people happy to help - just shoot us an email.

What do I need to carry on my person during the race?

  • Running shoes (trail shoes recommended)
  • Race bib (supplied)
  • Headtorch / Flashlight (between 8pm - 8am)
  • Emergency whistle
  • Clothing that covers your private parts
